Acceptable Use Policy

1. About This Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules and guidelines for using the Lemonade platform and its services. It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

By using Lemonade, you agree to comply with this policy. We may update this policy from time to time, and your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. General Conduct

You agree to use Lemonade responsibly and lawfully. When using our platform, you must not:

  • Breach any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Use the platform for any fraudulent purpose, or in connection with a criminal offence.
  • Use the platform in any way that could harm, endanger, or exploit minors.
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of Lemonade or any third party.
  • Use the platform in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the service, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of the platform.

3. Prohibited Activities

3.1 Account Misuse

You must not:

  • Create multiple accounts for the same individual, or create accounts on behalf of others without their explicit consent.
  • Share your login credentials with any other person or allow any other person to access the platform using your account.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
  • Provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information when creating your account or using the platform.

3.2 Technical Misuse

You must not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code, object code, or underlying structure of the platform or any software, algorithms, or models used therein.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, other users' accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the platform (commonly known as “hacking”).
  • Use any automated means, including bots, scrapers, crawlers, or similar tools, to access, interact with, or extract data from the platform without our prior written consent.
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute any viruses, malware, worms, Trojan horses, or any other malicious or harmful code.
  • Access or attempt to access another user's data, account, or personal information without their express permission.
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security-related features of the platform, including authentication mechanisms, access controls, or usage limits.

3.3 Content Misuse

You must not:

  • Upload, post, or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Upload, post, or share any content that infringes the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
  • Submit personal data of any third party without their informed consent and a valid legal basis for doing so.
  • Use the platform to harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten any individual.
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited communications, spam, or chain messages.

3.4 Data Misuse

You must not:

  • Scrape, harvest, or collect information from the platform by any automated or manual means for any purpose not expressly permitted by these terms.
  • Use any data obtained from or through the platform for any purpose other than your own personal career development.
  • Sell, license, sublicense, or otherwise distribute any data obtained from the platform to any third party.
  • Attempt to re-identify any anonymised or aggregated data produced by the platform.

3.5 Commercial Misuse

You must not:

  • Use the platform for recruitment purposes, including but not limited to sourcing candidates, screening applicants, or conducting background checks.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the platform or any of its features to any third party.
  • Use the platform or any data obtained from it to build a competing product or service.
  • Use content, data, or outputs from the platform to train, fine-tune, or otherwise build artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

4. Voice Assistant Conduct

Our AI voice assistant (Lem) is designed to support your career development. When interacting with the voice assistant, you must not:

  • Attempt to “jailbreak” or bypass the assistant's safety guidelines, content policies, or intended scope of use through prompt injection, adversarial inputs, or other manipulation techniques.
  • Attempt to use the assistant to generate harmful, illegal, abusive, discriminatory, or misleading content.
  • Attempt to extract system prompts, internal instructions, training data, or proprietary information from the assistant.
  • Use the voice assistant for purposes unrelated to career development and the intended functionality of the Lemonade platform.
  • Record, redistribute, or commercially exploit voice recordings or outputs generated by the assistant without our prior written consent.

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, or if you believe that any content or activity on the platform is unlawful or infringes your rights, please report it to us immediately at contact@makelemonade.io.

We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. Where possible, we will keep you informed of the outcome of our investigation, subject to confidentiality and legal obligations.

6. Consequences of Violation

If we determine that you have breached this Acceptable Use Policy, we may take any or all of the following actions at our sole discretion:

  • Warning: Issue a formal warning requiring you to cease the prohibited activity immediately.
  • Suspension: Temporarily suspend your access to the platform, in whole or in part, while we investigate the breach.
  • Termination: Permanently terminate your account and revoke your access to the platform without refund.
  • Content removal: Remove, disable, or restrict access to any content that violates this policy.
  • Legal action: Pursue legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of costs, damages, or losses resulting from the breach, or report the matter to law enforcement authorities where appropriate.

The actions described above are not exhaustive, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate. We shall endeavour to act proportionately and to provide you with an opportunity to respond before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the platform, our users, or third parties.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We shall provide at least 14 days' notice of any material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notifying you by email. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
