Is Lemonade a good alternative to Jack & Jill AI?
Yes, for a founder or head of operations hiring an experienced person in the UK. Lem, Lemonade's AI recruiter, sources, screens and introduces interested candidates, so the person running hiring only does the interviews. The clearest difference is reach: Jill introduces people who signed up to Jack, its careers agent; Lem searches LinkedIn, Lemonade's own talent pool and a people database of about a billion profiles, and approaches people for you. Then price: a free first search, then a Search Fee from £450 per role and no hire fee, against Jack & Jill's 10% of first-year salary on a UK hire (checked 21 October 2026). On an £80,000 hire that is £650 against £8,000 plus VAT. The Search Fee is refunded if you don't interview any of our candidates (pay-as-you-go roles). Prices correct as of 21 October 2026.
Choose Lemonade when
- People should be found and approached for you across the whole market.
- The role is UK-based and needs more than five years' experience (Lem's best fit).
- The role pays well and 10% of salary is a large bill.
- A later hire, for this role or another, should carry no fee.
Choose Jack & Jill when
- Paying nothing unless someone is hired matters most.
- The hire is in the US, or a contractor.
- One of the ATS connections its docs list is a must.
- Warm candidates, who have already told Jack what they want, matter most.

Where Lemonade pulls ahead
Lem finds people across the whole market and approaches them for you
Jill introduces people from Jack's network, about 415,000 by its own count, who "opt in to introductions through Jill" (pricing FAQ, checked 21 October 2026). Its Public Profiles search covers LinkedIn and other platforms, but there "You reach out directly" (docs).
Lem hunts day and night for the best candidates, from three sources: Lemonade's talent pool, people it sources directly, and applicants to your job posts, including adverts you run yourself on Indeed or LinkedIn. It approaches people by email and LinkedIn, including people busy in another job, and screens every applicant against the same brief. Its matching is built on more than a million job matches and user feedback, and gets sharper as feedback comes in. Each candidate is scored with the reasoning shown, gaps as plainly as strengths. Only people who have confirmed their interest reach the shortlist, and when you request an intro we can connect you in minutes. Lem hunts. You interview.
A fixed Search Fee, not 10% of salary
Jill's UK fee is 10% of first-year salary, plus VAT, so it grows with the role. Lemonade's Search Fee is fixed by salary band for a 30-day search, with nothing to pay on a hire. The arithmetic is ours; Lemonade charges no VAT while not VAT-registered.
No fee on a later hire, and no introduction window
Jack & Jill's Platform Terms make the fee due if you hire someone Jill introduced within 12 months of the introduction, "even if the Job Seeker is Engaged for a role, team, or function different from the role originally discussed", and even if you first turned them down. Lemonade has no introduction window and no exclusivity: hire someone we introduced for another role next year and nothing is owed (Employer Terms).
Fair to the people it approaches
Lem never approaches someone about a role at a company they have worked for. Nobody Lem finds is turned down by software; applicants screened out automatically are told which check said no and can ask a person at Lemonade to look again.
What one hire costs
| Salary | Jack & Jill (10%, on hire, plus VAT) | Lemonade Search Fee (30 days) | Lemonade as a share of the 10% fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| £30,000 | £3,000 | £450 | 15% |
| £40,000 | £4,000 | £450 | 11% |
| £50,000 | £5,000 | £450 | 9% |
| £80,000 | £8,000 | £650 | 8% |
| £120,000 | £12,000 | £1,200 | 10% |

At the salaries shown, Lemonade's fee is between 8% and 15% of a 10% fee, and from £40,000 up it is 13% or less (highest just above a band boundary: 13% at £51,000, 12% at £101,000). All of this assumes you hire: if nobody is hired, Jack & Jill costs nothing and Lemonade costs the Search Fee (nothing on your first search).
When Jack & Jill is the better choice
To pay only for an outcome, Jack & Jill is cleaner: "Companies pay 10%, only when Jill makes a hire", with a full refund if the hire leaves in the first 3 months. Its candidates are warm: each "has already had a real conversation with Jack". It covers the US and contractors; Lemonade covers UK roles only.
It also has documented ATS connections: Ashby, Workable, BambooHR, Pinpoint and Personio (in the US, in the paid Hire Jill plan; check your UK plan). Lemonade has no direct ATS integration: email a candidate pack to your ATS or download the shortlist, then move candidates into your ATS at the in-person interview stage (how Lemonade works with your ATS).
Lem works best for people with more than five years' experience, where there is more career history to match on. For junior, hourly or high-volume roles, a job board is usually better.
