Is Lemonade an alternative to LinkedIn Recruiter?
Yes, for a founder or head of operations hiring one experienced person. Lem sources, screens and introduces interested candidates, so the person running hiring only does the interviews. LinkedIn sells tools your team operates: job posts (free, or promoted per click), Hiring Pro, and Recruiter Lite or Recruiter seats (Lite $170 a month). Choose LinkedIn when you have time to search; choose Lemonade when you don't. Lem scores every candidate against your brief and introduces only people who have confirmed their interest. First search free, then a Search Fee from £450 per role, refunded if you don't interview any of our candidates. No hire fee, on any plan.
Prices correct as of 21 October 2026.
Choose Lemonade when...
- Nobody has hours each week to search, message and chase.
- The hire has more than five years' experience, where Lem works best; it is a weaker fit for junior roles.
- Candidates should come from three sources (Lemonade's talent pool, people Lem sources directly, applicants to your job posts), each scored against your brief.
- The role is confidential: your company stays unnamed until you request an intro.
Choose LinkedIn when...
- Someone on the team has hours each week to search and message.
- Hiring is steady, so a seat pays its way.
- The role is junior or high-volume and a post will bring enough applicants.
- Sourcing must sit inside your ATS (Recruiter has 28+ ATS partners).

What changes when Lem runs the search
No seat to operate: Lem does the searching and chasing
Recruiter Lite is a tool: someone on your team searches, writes each InMail, chases replies and screens whoever answers. With Lemonade, the person running hiring describes the role to Lem in a chat and the job spec builds itself. Lem then hunts day and night across Lemonade's talent pool, people it sources directly (public LinkedIn profiles included) and applicants to the role's job posts. Only people who have confirmed their interest reach the shortlist. Request an intro and we can connect you in minutes.
Hiring Pro and Lem: both shortlist, only one does the approaching
Hiring Pro is LinkedIn's closest product to Lem; LinkedIn calls it "your hiring partner, delivering a shortlist of top candidates for your small business". It works from your job post: its applicants, plus candidates LinkedIn recommends for you to invite. Inviting them is your step. Lem starts from your brief, approaches people itself and screens every applicant to your job posts too, including adverts you run yourself on Indeed or LinkedIn. Each candidate is scored requirement by requirement, with gaps shown as plainly as strengths. Lem's matching is built on more than a million job matches and user feedback, and gets sharper as feedback comes in.
Pay per role, not per seat
Take a £60,000 role. The first search for your company is free for 30 days; after that, the role falls in the £50k to £100k band: £650 for 30 days, and another 30 days costs £250 if needed. Nothing is due when you hire, and we will refund your Search Fee if you don't interview any of our candidates.
Recruiter Lite ($170 a month) and promoted posts are charged whatever the outcome, and the searching stays with your team.
LinkedIn wins on reach inside its own network
A full Recruiter seat searches LinkedIn's entire network with 40+ filters, flagging who is Open to Work. Recruiter Lite reaches up to your 3rd-degree connections. Lemonade does not replace that network; Lem's search includes public LinkedIn profiles alongside Lemonade's own pool of job seekers.
When LinkedIn is the better choice
- Someone has time. Recruiter Lite gives them LinkedIn search and 30 InMails a month, cancel any time.
- Hiring is steady. Across several roles a year, a seat can cost less per hire than paying per search.
- The role draws applicants. For junior, hourly or high-volume roles, where Lem is a weaker fit, a post often brings enough people. Promoting it lifts the free post's applicant limit, which "typically ranges from 10 to 30, depending on the role".
Using both
- Lem searches, LinkedIn advertises. Add LinkedIn promotion to your Lemonade role.
- Keep your seat, hand Lem the hard role. Give Lem the senior or confidential one.
Lemonade does not handle offers. Once candidates move to in-person interviews, we recommend moving them into your ATS (how that works).
Fair to the people Lem approaches
Lem never approaches someone about a role at a company they have worked for, and nobody Lem finds is turned down by software. Applicants turned down by an automatic check are told which check said no and can ask a person at Lemonade to look again (how Lem stays fair).

Questions founders ask
What is the main difference between Lemonade and LinkedIn?
LinkedIn sells job posts, Hiring Pro and Recruiter seats that you operate. Lemonade runs the search for you: Lem sources, screens and introduces interested candidates (LinkedIn included), scoring each against your brief with the reasoning shown.
How much does LinkedIn Recruiter Lite cost in the UK?
As of October 2026, Recruiter Lite costs $170 a month for one licence, billed in US dollars (LinkedIn checkout, checked 21 October 2026). A third-party guide also lists $1,680 a year on annual billing (Enrow, prices verified 3 September 2026). Eligible users can start a free trial; billing is monthly or yearly, cancel any time.
What is LinkedIn Hiring Pro?
LinkedIn's AI hiring product for "non-recruiters who hire occasionally", built on a free or promoted job post. The paid part is the promoted-post budget; LinkedIn says pricing varies with the role and the location of the job. Hiring Pro drafts your job post and, LinkedIn says, helps with first-round screening; on a promoted post, it presorts applicants and recommends 25 new candidates a day for you to invite to apply.
Does Lemonade use LinkedIn?
Yes. Lem's search includes public LinkedIn profiles alongside Lemonade's own pool of job seekers, and you can promote your Lemonade role on LinkedIn. Lem scores each person against your brief, and you see the score and why they fit before anyone confirms their interest. Only those who confirm their interest reach your shortlist.
Can I use LinkedIn and Lemonade together?
Yes. Lemonade is not exclusive: keep a Recruiter Lite seat or job post running and give Lem the role you have no time for. For a sensitive hire, make the role confidential: your company is never named on your job page, the LinkedIn post or Lem's introductions until you request an intro. When you're ready, request an intro and we can connect you in minutes. At in-person interviews, move candidates into your ATS (how that works).
Who should choose LinkedIn instead?
Teams with time to search and message, companies hiring steadily enough for a seat to pay its way, and anyone filling junior, hourly or high-volume roles, where a post often brings enough applicants. Lem works best for people with more than five years' experience.
