Is Lemonade a good Juicebox AI alternative?

Yes, for a founder or head of operations hiring an experienced person in the UK without a recruiter. Lem sources, screens and introduces interested candidates, so the work left to do is the interviews. Juicebox is built for recruiters: a strong search engine, with the searching, shortlisting and outreach yours to run, unless you add an Agent that sources and emails for you. Choose Juicebox if you have time to source; Lemonade if you don't. Lemonade's first search is free, then a Search Fee per role from £450, no hire fee, and the fee is refunded if you don't interview any of our candidates (prices correct as of 21 October 2026). Juicebox starts at $99 a seat a month billed yearly (checked 21 October 2026).

Choose Lemonade when

  • Hiring runs alongside the day job, with no recruiter and no spare hours for searches and replies.
  • The role needs more than five years' experience, which is where Lem works best.
  • Only people who have confirmed their interest should reach the shortlist.
  • The role is in the UK, and paying per role suits better than paying per seat.

Choose Juicebox when

  • A recruiter on the team, or you, will run the searches and outreach.
  • Many roles are open at once, or the roles are outside the UK.
  • Unlimited searching for a monthly price per seat suits you.

Five differences that matter to a founder

Lem runs the search; Juicebox hands you the tool

In Juicebox you create a project per role, run searches, shortlist profiles and add people to a sequence, or hand the role to an Agent that sources and emails for you. With Lemonade you brief Lem in a chat and Lem hunts day and night across three sources: Lemonade's talent pool, people Lem sources directly, and applicants to your job posts. Every applicant to your job posts is screened against your brief, including adverts you run yourself on Indeed or LinkedIn, as well as everyone Lem finds. See and steer the search without having to run it (how it works).

Every candidate scored against your brief, with the reasoning shown

Juicebox's PeopleGPT also ranks results and explains each match. With Lem, your brief becomes a checklist, and each candidate's report shows what is met, partial, missing or still unknown, with gaps shown as plainly as strengths (How Lem stays fair). The matching is built on more than a million job matches and user feedback, and gets sharper as feedback comes in. Nobody Lem finds is turned down by software. Applicants turned down by automatic screening are told which check said no and can ask a person at Lemonade to look again.

Only people who confirmed their interest reach you

Juicebox sends email steps from your mailbox, stopping when someone replies. LinkedIn and call steps become tasks, because "Juicebox does not send the LinkedIn message or make the call for you". Agents can also send emails for you. With Lemonade, candidates confirm their interest on a short page, which is their application, and can record short video answers to questions you set; a person reviews video answers before anyone reaches you. Request an intro and we can connect you in minutes: Lemonade introduces you both by email, or the candidate books through your own link. Lemonade does not handle offers: from in-person interviews on, we recommend moving candidates into your ATS.

Juicebox costs less in cash; Lemonade costs fewer of your hours

Once your free Lemonade search is used, Juicebox is cheaper in cash: a month of Starter is $119 (checked 21 October 2026), against £450 for a Lemonade role paying up to £50,000. Neither charges a fee when you hire, so the question is whose hours you are buying. Lemonade's Search Fee also comes with no introduction window: nothing more to pay if you later hire someone we introduced for a different role (terms). Lemonade is not exclusive: run both on different roles.

Built for UK hiring, with confidential roles

Juicebox opened a London office on 30 September 2026 (Business Wire, via Yahoo Finance, checked 21 October 2026). It states no country limit for roles and does not publish its UK coverage. Lemonade covers UK roles only, priced in pounds. Lem never approaches someone about a role at a company they have worked for, and you can keep a role confidential until you request an intro.

When Juicebox is the better choice

Juicebox is a good product: PeopleGPT lets you describe the person you want without Boolean strings, ranks results against your criteria and explains each match. Paid plans include unlimited searches, and Starter and Growth can be paid monthly.

Choose it if you or a recruiter will run the searches and sequences, or you hire across many roles or countries: at volume, a per-seat price beats a fee per role. Juicebox also markets itself to founders who source themselves: its guide to AI sourcing names "a founder or hiring manager sourcing without a recruiting team" as a use case (Juicebox, checked 21 October 2026).

Lem works best for people with more than five years' experience. For junior, hourly or high-volume roles, a job board is usually a better choice than either of us.

Lem hunts. You interview.

The first search is free: 30 days, any salary, no card needed.

Questions founders ask

What is the main difference between Lemonade and Juicebox?

Who does the work. Juicebox is a sourcing tool you operate, with optional Agents that source and email for you. Lemonade is an AI recruiter: Lem sources, screens and introduces interested candidates, approaching them by email and LinkedIn. Neither charges a hire fee.

How much does Juicebox cost?

As of October 2026 (checked 21 October 2026 on Juicebox's pricing page, https://juicebox.ai/pricing), Starter is $119 a seat a month billed monthly, or $99 billed yearly; Growth is $199 or $179 a seat; Business is a custom annual quote. Agents cost $199 an agent a month. The free plan ends at 5 searches, 65 profile views or 5 contact credits, whichever comes first (https://docs.juicebox.ai/help/faq/free-trial-limits).

Is Juicebox worth it for a founder hiring one person?

It can be, if you have the hours to write searches, review profiles, send LinkedIn messages and handle replies yourself. The first Lemonade search is free; after that, a month of Juicebox Starter ($119, checked 21 October 2026) costs less in cash than a £450 Lemonade Search Fee. If you would rather not, Lem sources, screens and introduces interested candidates for you.

Does Juicebox contact candidates for me?

Partly. Email steps send automatically from your mailbox and stop when the candidate replies, and Agents can send emails for you. LinkedIn messages and calls are tasks you complete yourself, and replies come to you.

Is Juicebox an ATS?

It is not sold as one. Its plans cover search, contact credits and outreach, with ATS and CRM integrations on Business. Lemonade is not an ATS either; candidates move into yours by email pack or CSV.

Who should choose Juicebox instead?

Recruiters and teams with someone who will source; anyone hiring many roles at once or outside the UK; teams that want unlimited searching for a monthly seat price.
